Cancer Full Moon & Nodal Shift

Cancer Full Moon & Nodal Shift

WTF is going on up there?? Let's talk about it!

full moon occurs when the Moon is directly opposite the Sun in the sky, with the Earth positioned between them. This alignment causes the side of the Moon facing Earth to be fully illuminated by the Sun, creating its bright, round appearance. The full moon is often associated with culmination, completion, release and heightened emotions. It represents a time of reflection, where themes or intentions set during the previous new moon come to fruition. The full moon's energy is powerful, amplifying intuition, emotions, and awareness, making it a potent phase for release, celebration, or clarity.

The full moon will be at 23 degrees of Cancer. The signs most affected by the full moon are, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. any planets within 0 to 5 degrees away from 23 degrees within those signs or angled houses (1, 4, 7, and 10) will be affected the most.

The Cancer full moon will be at 23 degrees with a close conjunction to Mars Retrograding at 27 degrees. The conjunction to Mars retrograde is powerful and emotionally charged event that brings themes of heightened sensitivity, emotional confrontation, and deep introspection.

Cancer is a water sign deeply connected to emotions, intuition, family, and home. A Full Moon in Cancer brings these themes to the forefront, often triggering emotional realisations or climaxes. When Mars retrograde joins the mix, emotions like anger, frustration, or passion may bubble up but in a reflective or suppressed way, leading to inner conflict or a feeling of being "stuck" in expressing one's desires or asserting boundaries.

Mars retrograde can turn the planet’s energy inward, creating a sense of revisiting old emotional patterns or unresolved conflicts, particularly within family dynamics or close relationships. Combined with the nurturing and protective energy of Cancer, this Full Moon can highlight where we may feel emotionally defensive or reactive, urging us to address hidden triggers or suppressed anger. Personally for me, one of the themes that has been pressing for me was setting boundaries with they way family members interact with my child. This has been bothering me and I have had to process the way I will maneuver with these members. Usually I would be very direct however I understand I can easily offend people.

Mars represents action, assertiveness, and personal drive, while Cancer is focused on safety, care, and emotional comfort. The conjunction of these energies suggests a tension between the need to protect and nurture oneself and the urge to fight or defend. It’s a time to reflect on whether your actions align with your emotional needs and whether you're setting boundaries effectively in your personal relationships.

Full Moons are a time of culmination and release. In Cancer, this release often relates to emotional burdens, outdated attachments, or feelings of guilt. With Mars retrograde involved, the healing process may involve slowing down and reflecting on how past actions or unresolved conflicts have shaped your emotional landscape. This alignment offers a chance to let go of emotional baggage and rebuild your sense of inner security and strength.

Cancer’s connection to intuition is amplified during this Full Moon, offering clarity on deeply personal matters. The retrograde motion of Mars encourages you to channel this energy creatively or spiritually, rather than impulsively acting out emotions. Journaling, meditation, or nurturing activities like cooking or spending time with loved ones can help process these intense energies.

You know the Nodes shifted too?? New Energy!

The nodes went into Pisces and Virgo yesterday! Wahey! Whilst The nodes were in Aries and Libra at 00° (the last degree for the nodes as the nodes enter 29° of Pisces/Virgo), did you experience any themes around relationships, other people and your own personal identity? 0° and 29° highlight the beginning and the ending to a cycle.

When the North Node enters Pisces, it marks a collective shift in focus toward embracing Piscean themes of spirituality, compassion, creativity, and surrender. This transit encourages both individuals and society to explore the intangible, mystical, and emotional aspects of life, moving away from the hyper-focus on control, logic, and detail associated with the South Node in Virgo.

The North Node in Pisces emphasises the importance of connecting with the divine, the universe, or your inner sense of spirituality. This is a time to cultivate faith, let go of rigid structures, and embrace the unknown. Challenges may arise when trying to control outcomes or when clinging to perfectionism (Virgo tendencies). Instead, we’re encouraged to trust the process, listen to our intuition, and flow with life’s rhythms.

With the South Node in Virgo, there’s a tendency to overthink, analyse, or fixate on practicality and productivity. During this transit, we’re asked to release the need for everything to be perfect or logical and instead embrace imperfection and ambiguity. Learning to "go with the flow" rather than micromanaging life is a central lesson. Personally for me, I have spent the past two months redesigning my home on paper and I have high expectations. Virgo south node is in my 4th house therefore I need to attempt to be more focused on long term goals around work. This is the year i will be fully qualified as a hypnotherapist! Hypnotherapy aligns with the Pisces north node and career change.

Pisces represents unconditional love and unity. This transit can bring a collective focus on humanitarian efforts, mental health awareness, and supporting vulnerable communities. People may feel more sensitive to the emotions of others, fostering a sense of interconnectedness and shared responsibility. This is a powerful time for healing old wounds, forgiveness, and cultivating compassion toward oneself and others.

Pisces is the sign of imagination and inspiration, making this a fertile period for artistic pursuits and spiritual practices. Music, art, poetry, and other creative outlets can flourish as people feel more drawn to express their inner worlds. Intuition is heightened during this time, and dreams may become more vivid, offering guidance and insight.

On the shadow side, Pisces energy can lead to escapism, confusion, or a tendency to avoid reality. It’s important to balance this dreamy energy with grounded practices to avoid losing yourself in illusions, addictions, or unrealistic expectations. Setting healthy boundaries is crucial, as increased sensitivity can leave people vulnerable to emotional overwhelm or manipulation.

The area of life this transit affects will depend on which house Pisces occupies in your natal chart. Use whole house system for this calculation.
