July 17th Transits - North and South Node and Cancer Eclipse

July 17th Transits - North and South Node and Cancer Eclipse

Cancer New Moon & Cardinal Grand Cross

The Sun in Cancer at 25°, Moon in Cancer at 29° Squaring North and South Node at 29° in Libra and Aries, whilst opposing Pluto In Capricorn at 29° forming a Grand Cross.

This Cancer New Moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle. It holds specific significance and carries certain themes and energies which we are likely to feel for the next several weeks.

Cancer is a water sign associated with emotions, intuition, and nurturing. The Cancer New Moon signifies a time of emotional reset and renewal. It encourages you to explore your feelings, connect with your inner self, and seek emotional healing. Cancer is closely linked to the home, family, and personal security. The New Moon in Cancer provides an opportunity to set intentions and plant seeds of manifestation related to these areas. You may focus on creating a harmonious home environment, deepening family connections, or enhancing your sense of emotional well-being. Cancer energy emphasises self-care, self-compassion, and nurturing oneself. During the Cancer New Moon, you are encouraged to prioritise self-care practices, nourish your emotional needs, and create a supportive foundation for yourself.

Cancer is ruled by the Moon, highlighting intuition and instincts. The New Moon in Cancer invites you to trust your inner guidance, listen to your gut feelings, and pay attention to subtle emotional cues. It's a favorable time to engage in practices such as meditation, journaling, or dream work to deepen your connection with your intuitive wisdom.

Cancer energy can be sensitive and empathetic. The New Moon in Cancer reminds you of the importance of establishing healthy emotional boundaries. It's an opportunity to reflect on your emotional needs, protect your energy, and create a sense of emotional security.

The Image above displays a cardinal grand cross highlighting a lot of tension for this new moon. With the moon making its way to the 29th degree of Cancer, forming a potent degree in the expression, we are also seeing the nodes, and Pluto at 29 degrees. Click here to read more on degrees.

Let's break this down. The North Node in Aries is a directional point directing us to be assertive, impulsive, and direct towards our desires. As this opposes Libra South Node, this could cause some issues towards relationships and others. With the Nodes squaring the Moon, it's important to use this time to be thoughtful of others and how your personal desires could affect those around you. Have more compassion. Pluto is in Capricorn opposing the Moon leading there to be some sort of issue with boundaries, control and power dynamics. The Moon links us to the public. With Pluto being in Capricorn in direct opposition, it is likely we will hear some news around a politician being exposed or some sort of women's rights issue. Capricorn represents the government, and as of late with Jupiter being in Taurus, we have heard the government passing bills around how our food is produced. We may hear of some bill being passed over the next couple of weeks around women's rights. I also believe there will be some content put out that will likely go viral for a few days involving women and what they believe as the moon squares Aries North node. This can highlight a self centred perspective leading there to be an imbalance of energies.

 North Node Enters Aries

On July 17th 2023, North Node enters Aries and the South Node enters Libra. It signifies a shift in the lunar nodes' placement. The lunar nodes, also known as the North Node and the South Node, are not physical celestial bodies but rather points in space where the Moon's orbit intersects the ecliptic (the Sun's apparent path around the Earth). This transit will last for a year and a half.

In Astrology, the North Node represents the path of growth, evolution, fear and the lessons we need to learn in this lifetime, while the South Node represents past experiences, karmic patterns, familiarity and what we need to release or move away from.

So how will this affect us?

When the North Node shifts into Aries and the South Node into Libra, it suggests a collective shift in focus and lessons for society as a whole. Here are some general themes associated with this nodal placement:

Aries represents self-assertion, independence, and personal identity. The North Node in Aries encourages us to prioritise our individual needs, passions, and self-expression. It prompts us to take courageous steps, follow our instincts, and be more authentic in our actions. You may focus more on personal goals and have the energy to really push yourself during this transit. Libra represents partnerships, harmony, and diplomacy. The South Node in Libra suggests a need to release any tendencies of excessive people-pleasing, codependency, or prioritising others' needs over our own. It urges us to find a healthy balance between self and others, asserting boundaries, and nurturing healthy relationships. Aries is associated with taking the lead, initiating action, and being bold. With the North Node in Aries, it encourages us to step out of our comfort zones, overcome fear, and proactively pursue our goals and ambitions. It emphasises the importance of self-motivation and embracing new beginnings. Aries energy is about self-reliance and personal autonomy. The North Node in Aries calls us to develop self-confidence, trust in our abilities, and learn to stand on our own. It may push us to explore our individual strengths and assert ourselves in various areas of life.

These are general themes associated with the North Node in Aries and the South Node in Libra. However, it's important to remember to check how these will affect your personal houses and planetary aspects.

If you have any planets in Aries, you will likely have more energy towards that planet. You may feel more of a focus towards moving forward. Personally, I have an Aries Sun and the Nodes are conjunct. I've lost some of that Jupiter weight and feeling a lot more confident! If North Node is conjunct your Moon, you may feel a need to be more connected or closer with your family. etc. The purpose is to highlight the expression.
