If your activated planet is in a critical degree, you are likely to experience something extreme happening especially if the planet is in detriment. Exalted/detriment planets tend to be felt more in annual profections as oppose to everyday life.

When the Sun is the activated planet for the year in annual profections, it means that the house Leo sits during that year of their life is activated. My experience of mercury being the activated planet, was when I was 27. My life became extremely busy. I launched my business and was learning a lot about branding and content. I also purchased a car after not having a car for a while. This car took me all over london after not being able to travel for so long. I was just happy to have my freedom back. Bearing in mind, My mercury has the worst aspects in my chart.
